राज्यपाल लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल गुरमीत सिंह (से.नि.) ने आज राजभवन में आयोजित “हिन्द की चादरः एक सर्वोच्च बलिदान गाथा” कार्यक्रम में प्रतिभाग किया। यह आयोजन श्री गुरु तेग बहादुर जी की 350वीं शहीदी वर्ष श्रृंखला के अंतर्गत आयोजित किया गया। कार्यक्रम का माहौल भक्तिमय और भावपूर्ण रहा, जिसमें गुरमत संगीत बाल विद्यालय, ऋषिकेश के विद्यार्थियों ने गुरु तेग बहादुर जी के जीवन, त्याग और बलिदान को शबद-कीर्तन और संगीत की सुमधुर प्रस्तुतियों के माध्यम से अभिव्यक्त किया।
इस अवसर पर राज्यपाल ने गुरु तेग बहादुर जी के जीवन और अद्वितीय शहादत पर आधारित पुस्तक “गुरु तेग बहादुर” का विमोचन भी किया। उन्होंने कहा कि राष्ट्र, मानवता और धार्मिक स्वतंत्रता की रक्षा हेतु गुरु तेग बहादुर जी का supreme बलिदान विश्व इतिहास में अद्वितीय है। राज्यपाल ने कहा कि गुरु जी की शहादत भारत की सांस्कृतिक आत्मा, आध्यात्मिक विरासत और मानवीय मूल्यों की रक्षा का सर्वोच्च प्रतीक है।
राज्यपाल गुरमीत सिंह ने इस बात पर भी जोर दिया कि अत्याचार और अन्याय के विरुद्ध खड़े होने का संदेश आज भी समान रूप से प्रासंगिक है। उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी द्वारा 26 दिसंबर को वीर बाल दिवस के रूप में मनाने के निर्णय को सिख परंपरा और साहिबजादों के अप्रतिम बलिदान के प्रति राष्ट्र की कृतज्ञता का प्रतीक बताया।
उन्होंने लोगों से आह्वान किया कि गुरु तेग बहादुर जी की शिक्षाओं को जीवन में आत्मसात करें और भारत की एकता, अखंडता तथा संस्कृति की रक्षा के लिए सदैव तत्पर रहें। राज्यपाल ने कहा कि गुरु जी का बलिदान भारत की आत्मा का अमर प्रकाश है, जो सदियों तक मानवता को मार्गदर्शित करता रहेगा।
